The Southern Regional Centre of the UK Systems Society is based at the University of Portsmouth.

The UKSS is a non-profit making professional society, registered as an educational charity.

The Society is committed to the development and promotion of ‘systems’ philosophy, theory, models, concepts and methodologies for improving decision-making and problem-solving for the benefit of organizations and the wider society.

The Centre seeks to provide a forum for systems thinkers in the Southern region, both practitioners and academics.

Current members and contacts are drawn from the Systems Research Group at the University of Portsmouth and from other institutions in the wider Region, including the Universities of Southampton, Reading and Winchester. There are also participants from public sector and commercial organizations.

Many different fields of interest are represented, from architecture to software development, unified by a desire to maintain a systemic approach.
